In recognition of International Lesbian Day (October 8), we are honoring the lesbian women who showed up in the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic—caring for the gay community, standing alongside trans women, and helping build the movement we continue today. 💛 That legacy of solidarity still matters. At a time when philanthropy has sharply reduced support for trans-led work, women of color-led foundations and community supporters have continued to step up in powerful ways.

What does success look like for funders when the organizations they believe in are being forced to shrink, pause programs, or close their doors?
